Read onlyHello,
I received a VAT refund on seller fees but Amazon informed me I can also claim a VAT refund on advertising VAT paid. Has anyone been successful?
It depends what you mean by a refund. Non-VAT registered sellers based in the UK could previously ask Amazon for a refund of VAT on seller fees (and claim "exemption") as they weren't billed from the UK.
That did not extend to VAT on advertising as that was billed from the UK.
Advertising has been billed by their uk branch for some time including UK VAT so unless you are vat registered, you can’t claim a refund.
As always, ignore whatever Seller Support have told you.
Refund no, offset against VAT yes. It used to be RC (I think) rated, now it is 20%.
However, to anyone who may see, and for the odd person this may help. Amazon shipping with EVRI has never been zero rated which slipped me by for a few years and was nice when I did a large back claim for a few years of Evri SFP and FBM purchases.
Yes, Amazon advertising fees does have VAT on the fee. Has been like this for a long time. Amazon standard fees also have VAT (added August this year).
