Read onlyWe usually dispatch same day so have handling time set to "0"
However, we need to do some work in our warehouse and therefore want to set handling time to 2 day
We changed it in the Shipping settings < General shipping settings.
Received several orders with the 2 day adjustment, then received one which was only placed today with a ship date of today.
Raised case with seller support - got told it was because we have 3 shipping templates.
The particular ASIN ordered is on the default shipping template, and therefore should have had the handling time adjusted.
Also, Seller support are suggesting that only items on default shipping will have handling time adjusted when handling time is changed - if this is true, how do I change the handling time for other shipping templates??
No idea what they are talking about as usual.
As far as I know - handling time is not set at Shipping Template level. A change in General Shipping settings will cover all shipping templates.
Two things to check..
- Do you offer any Premium shipping - as they don't take into account handling time.
- Check at ASIN level in Manage Inventory for one of the orders where you have a ship date of today. Does it have a Handling time override on the Offer tab?
We have had one to Germany like that today, listing has 14 day handling time on it, was sold this morning for dispatch by tomorrow - raise a case on it - I bet it's an error in their system that's caused it
Was the order in Pending status and bought before you changed the handling time setting? That has happened to me before. It seems when it is Pending it keeps the handling time set at time of order - not when payment clears. So if it was 0 when ordered, but payment not clear for a few days, when payment does clear Amazon still expect you to send same day, even though in meantime you may have changed handling time to be 2 days.
Its about time Amazon allowed us to cancel Pending orders longer than 24 hours with no hit on metrics. I have also had the problem where an order was pending for 4 days but I was going away 2 days after the order placed so I was unable to fulfil when payment did clear and had to cancel it instead (and get a hit on metrics for cancelling).
Hello @Seller_abTsmQFPZV3Uc,
I'm Sarah with Amazon.
Can you please share the case ID opened with Seller Support?
Kind regards,
Sarah.
Any time we change handling time from 1 day to 2 day it never changes (with giving it 24 hours). We have tried several times in the past with no luck and seller support don't have the answer either. With being from Northern Ireland some of our holidays differ to the mainland and it would save us from putting our account on holiday mode.
I have looked for this before but can't find it.
Is there a report which shows you your ASIN Specific Handling Time? If not it would be a good idea to have one.
I know with mine should be set to blank Handling Time but I get the occasional order which has a different handling time and on investigation the handling time is set at the ASIN.
The inventory reports lack some data to be honest. Another thing I would like in the inventory reports is brand. This would help me see if any product has been hijacked.
With a large inventory doing manual checks is nearly impossible.
