How are buyers able to return (non-faulty) items later than 30 days?

Had a change of mind return request today for a book, which I have accepted. I was a bit irritated because it was ordered a while ago & I suspected they have had a read of it. Just checked the order date which was 17th November, so well over the 30 days which amazon state is the returns period! Have also seen that the price has since risen significantly so I am now looking forward to getting it back so I can relist it!
I have been hearing a lot recently on other sites of people having items returned to them after long periods of time, even over a year, although think they use FBA & it may have been claimed that the item was faulty.

Returns from 5th nov accepter until 31st jan. Also they can still open return request but will usually say out of policy

Was the book used or new? If you sold it as new and it’s been returned, if I’m not mistaken consumer law states you can’t sell it as new.

I really can’t accept that some buyers cheated free products and services because Amazon’s return policy .

Amazon emailed everyone in November to say that any items sold on or after the 2nd November 2017 could be returned for any reason up and including the 31st January 2018, this happens every year without fail, if you didn’t receive the email I will be amazed as this is one email that always gets through no matter what.

So be a good seller, accept the return and simply relist it at an higher price, usually a couple of pounds on the returned item price helps with you postage losses, so dry your eyes mate and do it all again and enjoy the ride.

This is what everyone else has to do so my advice, give them a refund upon receipt of the returned item, relist it at a higher price and move on, it works for me.

Had a return request last month for a small electric controller. The purchase date was 1 week short of a year. I advised the buyer that this would not be possible so he contacted Amazon and stated that the unit was faulty, Amazon then asked me politely to deal with this. On receipt of the unit we tested it in our workshop facility and it was working 100% so I’m guessing he just wanted a new one to extend his warranty to 2 years.
