Read onlyThis question relates to Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter brought on an RM account not being a valid tracking method.
I have started to use Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter (code BPL2 on Click and Drop) for some of my orders. I am having messages from customers asking for refunds as Amazon are saying the item is lost when there is a delivery scan.
My VTR is also now much lower and checking the VTR report a lot of the orders on there have a valid delivery scan from RM so should be valid for VTR.
Seller support say that the items do not have a carrier scan but that is incorrect as they do.
VTR policy says 2nd Class Large Letters can be used so I shouldn't be penalised for doing so.
Can a Mod please advise why Royal Mail 2nd Class Large letter is not valid for VTR and why customers are being told the goods are running late or lost when there is a delivery scan?

Hello Direct_Gifts_Ltd,
Provided you enter the Tracking Number into the appropriate Amazon Tracking box in the correct format (no spaces or dashes) your large letters will be validated behind the scenes by Amazon. But don't use Stamps/Franking for method as these are INVALID
BUT unless they are signed-for they will not be accepted as Valid For VTR Purposes and counted in your VTR score - so your VTR rate will drop until it is N/A (not appliccable) but this not result in your account being suspended
This may be an odd system, but it's been working for many months now
Hope that's a help
Brian
This has been going on for years as I have exactly the same problem and have to constantly go back to customers with proof from Royal Mail tracking to show it has been delievered. It appears that Amazon do not receive or recognise the link for the Royal Mail scan for some reason so they send a message saying it has not been delivered and to ask for a refund.
It has been brought up many times on the forums in the past but nothing has been done about it. It is extremely frustrating and time wasting, both for customers and sellers.
I have even had customers contact me who have received this message from Amazon to tell me it has been delivered. Ridiculous!
It's quite simple RM code BPL and CRL for that matter don't offer full tracking, only delivery conformation. That's why Amazon don't count them for VTR unless they do get scanned on delivery, which posties don't always do. IMHO BPL and CRL are not safe to use for Amazon shipments as quite a number of Amazons darling customers know that no scan = no delivery and they will get a freebie
Are you allowing click and drop to mark the products as dispatched on amazon? if so then it should be recovered behind the scenes we currently have a vtr of 25.6% as the occasional double order or letter slips through when i'm not paying enough attention and this really screws with the system as everything else is ignored number wise so your occasional fault get magnified. but this is not an issue for us.
Hi, Do you buy your RM postage direct through Amazon or Royal Mail click and drop?
You MUST use Buy Shipping, and you can link your Royal Mail Account.
That then counts as shipped on time, so no defects and you can ask for any bad feedback to be removed.
Then you get a barcode scan at the point of delivery (sometimes, 70% I think is average). So, that should also be ok, mostly.
Amazon do not always show ok, with Large Letters unless Fully Tracked Large Letters used, then mst of those are ok.
When you send using C&D, Large Letters, Amazon do not track those properly, you will have defects and Amazon email a Buyer saying their parcel is lost/delayed, ask for a refund.
You can still do a screenshot and link to the Buyer to prove delivered, show GPS, their house, etc. But, a risk of an A-Z Claim.
Most know they have the item, but they usually say another member of the family, or a neighbour had it, but at least no refund done.
There was a long period of time where LL bought via click and drop didnt work for VTR, there is a chance this has started to be a problem again as click and drop doesnt transfer the 'tracking number' back into Amazon
Hey,
We have found that Amazon does not like BPL codes, only CRL codes, it seems that Amazon does not recognise items booked the BPL code, we had similar problems with other platforms as we have identified loads of areas where posties dont scan and we send those via the BPL service. so we can claim from RM.
It seems that BPL services do not register on Amazon integrated tracker.. but CRL do!! we have raised many cases. etc to no avail as both do have the 2d barcode and they are the same..
We have email the Md but still awaiting a response
Do you mean is, or was this a typo? If you did mean is, check to see if the date of delivery is outside the estimated delivery window that Amazon gives.
At times, Amazon has sent that message automatically when the scan took place earlier than the start of the window.
The VTR policy does say that, and Amazon do keep to it as a rule, but they only class the listing suspension as penalising your account. They won't change the VTR figure, they just verify the tracking numbers as real and don't suspend listings on that basis.
I can't explain why they're appearing on your report if they have had a delivery scan, though. People have said it has happened to them at times, but I don't remember anyone ever getting an answer for why it was happening.
Can you screenshot you VTR report and highlight one that has a delivery scan?
That's not true. You only HAVE to use Buy Shipping for letter sized mail.
If you're sending large letters or parcels that have a tracking number or delivery confirmation service then you can buy it anywhere, so long as you mark it as shipped correctly.
