2 Accounts - Sole Trader & New Ltd Company, is this allowed?
Hi all,
I am looking for some advice on the potential for opening a 2nd Amazon seller account as I have heard different things from seller support.
I currently run a single Amazon seller account as a sole proprietor. I am looking to potentially open a 2nd Amazon seller account as a ltd company to run alongside my sole proprietor account. As such, I would be selling on 2 different Amazon seller accounts at the same time.
I have saw that i would need a legitimate business reason for doing so
( * Only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing. Examples of a legitimate business justification include:
- You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each
- You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies
- You are recruited for an Amazon programme that requires separate accounts)
I believe that I do have a legitimate business reason (“you manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies”). (I source products for my sole proprietor account and i import my own branded goods for ltd company)
I am wary of getting my account(s) banned so just looking for some guidance from other sellers who have been in a similar position to me.
Would it be ok to open a 2nd account? Do i need some kind of official permission from Amazon? If it’s ok, can I run them both from the same address?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I believe the two accounts have to sell items in different categories.
There are other criteria too, such as separate bank accounts and email addresses. There may be others too.

that means neither entity shares any of the business premises, equipment and supplies, for example, with one another.
short answer is you can’t do it on amazon unless the two accounts sell different things
