Customer opened A-Z Claim when royal mail tried twice to deliver

Royal mail attempted to deliver the parcel and customer was not at home then customer messaged me asking for refund

i replied to customer asking them to rearrange delivery but they replied they just want a refund then i went on Royal mail website and rearranged the delivery so it gets delivered to customer but Royal mail could not deliver as customer was not home

Now customer has opened A-Z claim asking for refund

Please somebody guide me on what to do ? shall i refund buyer to avoid A-Z going against me or shall i leave it and amazon will not refund customer or close case against me

If you refund the customer once an A-Z is opened it will still count against you because the customer had to open the case.

If you leave it, Amazon will probably still refund as the customer hasn't received their order.

You could have refunded when the customer requested the refund, this would have avoided the A-Z but if they had a failed delivery card there would be nothing to stop them then going and collecting the package from Royal Mail. This has happened to us.
