UPS delayed / lost FBA parcel

Having a nightmare with a UPS parcel of FBA inventory sent to the warehouse. Picked up from my house on 4th Dec, out for delivery on 15th Dec which never happened. Then nothing till suddenly 4th Jan, out for delivery. Never delivered - tracking still says its on its way. Amazon won’t reimburse me because it’s in transit still and I don’t think I can claim through UPS, although when I called them they said they would send a claim form so UPS seem to think it’s lost. Looking at the claim form though, I think as the contract is between UPS and amazon, I can’t claim, I have to claim through Amazon.
This has never happened to me before - anyone else been in this situation? Is it still likely to be delivered?
