MFN Orders - Tracking ID - How is it being tracked?

Hello,

I have a situation where I ordered a MFN fulfilled product, but the tracking ID was not found (product sent via post) and I actually never received the product and ended up requesting a refund.

I am wondering how is Amazon tracking the MFN orders? Are all of the FBM orders being checked if they were physically shipped? If yes then how?

If you input a tracking id, then it is easily checked by the Amazon computer if it receives an initial or final scan by the carrier.

If no tracking id is entered, they take the customer’s word if they say it hasn’t been received. Far too many dodgy sellers on Amazon and other marketplaces who scam customers so this is what has to be done.

Obviously there are dishonest customers too but the honest ones far outweigh the dishonest ones.

Lots of items are sent with only a delivery confirmation, or with no tracking at all, in this case they have no way of checking if they are shipped per se, but if they aren’t shipped, then they won’t be delivered, and if they aren’t delivered then your customer is going to complain, and if your customer complains then they are getting a refund, and you will likely be shut down after a short amount of time as negative feedback, a-zs etc all have a negative effect on your account health.

Sounds here more like you were a customer rather than a seller? You requested a refund, you got one, either you got a refund without going to A-Z and if it was recently, your order probably got lost in the whole Royal Mail strike fiasco (which affected pretty much every courier out there), or you went to A-Z and your seller was forced to refund you and got a ding on their account.

Sadly the odd time orders go missing, even without strikes

There is no checking by Amazon that untracked MFN orders are being shipped as it would be impossible for them to work this out.

If they are tracked and not shipped then this could impact the sellers VTR and they would end up with category suspensions if they did it too often.

If there are multiple complaints from customers that items are not being received then Amazon have been known to ask sellers for proof that items are being sent out.
