Refund but no return

Has anyone else had a refund initiated by Amazon on a no fault return BEFORE the book has been returned. I have spoken to Amazon who seem to think that the book is ‘on it’s way’ and that if it doesn’t eventually arrive that I can as for a refund - are they joking?

 Look up Refund at First Scan. This has been the policy for FBM returns for some time now. 
 Basically amazon will refund when the customers return gets a scan in the system. 
 Any issues with the return, you open a Safe T claim with amazon, unless the courier loses it, in which case, you claim through the courier.
