Cancel German VAT registration
I’ve seen this posted before but can’t find it. Does someone have the email address to cancel German VAT registration directly with the German authorities?
Avalara want the charge me £350!

Are you aware that you cannot deregister until 2 years has elapsed since first registration in Germany?

On the assumption (absent confirmation of elapsed time since first registration) that you would be allowed to deregister, the office handling UK companies used to be Hannover-Nord. This may have changed since the UK left the EU, but Hannover-Nord is still shown on the German government website.
