Lost buy box after weeks, with no changes in my price or competitors
Anyone got any ideas why I would lose the buy box on a few of my listings?
There are a few offers on each ASIN and I am the only Prime seller on these listings. As such, I determined my maximum price I can sell at above my competitors and still retain the buy box. I’ve had these prices for weeks and upon checking today I can see that there is no change with my competitors price, but I have somehow lost the buy box to them. What would cause this? Is Amazon messing with me? My performance metrics are all within reason and have not increased or decreased for a while.

Check your pricing health dashboard, Amazon have likely applied a “competitive price” to the ASIN, which you have to match or beat to get the BB. Amazon are rolling this out much more now.

No the (new) pricing health dashboard now enforces the “off Amazon” price, so where previously you could be higher and still get the BB, now Amazon are enforcing this so called “competitive price” instead of just the price of other sellers on Amazon.

Unfortunately, the BuyBox algorithm depends on multiple factors, which Amazon doesn’t reveal and there is no guarantee you will have the BuyBox on any listing, even if you were the one who created it and there are no other sellers competing with you.
It could be something you are not aware of, such as the other seller’s returns rate being lower or other internal metrics performing better.

Well, thanks for your help guys. Guess I’m lucky this has happened before we were about to replenish some of our inventory. If I can’t raise the price I’m better off fulfilling the items myself, rather than FBA!

I think it might actually be a glitch (hoping anyway !)
We have products that have been in the buy box (SFP) for a while that are 75p-£1 more expensive than the lowest price, now all of a sudden non of them are there. One ASIN has the lowest price at £3.93, we are at £3.95 but another seller who is also SFP is in the buy box at £3.99 even though we are cheaper
Our stats are all perfect so it’s not that.
This also happened approx. 4 weeks ago - I noticed at 10am that we had lost the buy box on most items but by 11am they were all back in
think Amazon are probably playing around with something (which could also be why all these late messages are suddenly coming through) hope its sorted out soon though as we can’t afford to drop all our prices either
