Amazon eu fba tax?
Hi. I currently sell in the UK using FBA only and would like to open up to the EU sites.
What do I need to know please regarding TAX in each country and how do i go about it? I am not VAT registered and am quite a long way off that requirement at the moment but want to make sure I comply with rules and legalities. I do not have an accountant.
Thanks
Mel

To be blunt, if you haven’t already reached the threshold to register for VAT in the UK, then it is probably pointless looking to sell via FBA on the other EU sites.
This is because, most, if not all of the other countries require you to be registered for VAT in the UK first.
If you are talking about just selling from the UK, to the other EU sites, then you have to take into account that Amazon will remove the VAT (at the relevant country rate) from the sale, when you sell something in the EU. This is regardless of whether you are VAT registered or not.
You have also have the issues of extended and obviously more expensive postage.
Also, you could use the EFN network, but again, this looks to be quite expensive to use.
Really not trying to be too negative here, but an awful lot of sellers pulled out of selling in the EU, due to the various issues caused by Brexit.
It is possible to do, but it will very much depend on the products/ that you are selling and the margins you have.

Amazon are running a promotion for 20% off of EFN fees which starts tomorrow and runs for a year. Still more expensive than standard FBA, but might make things a little easier in some scenarios.
