New Seller Registered Office vs Trading Address

Hi Amazon Sellers,

Can I ask for some advice please?

Upon setting up I listed my company registered office and not the trading address of the company.

In order to verify my account details should I have entered the trading address and not the registered office when setting up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Gary

The address needs to match the documentation that you hold for verification.
So I would imagine, that it will be the registered address.
The problem you will have otherwise, is that the documentation must match exactly. And if it doesn’t, you won’t get past verification.

Your trading address can be amended for returns and such like and doesn’t have to match.

The address you added should have been your registered office address (as a limited company) because your trading address could have been in Timbuktu. Presumably, you will be aware as a limited company you are required, by law, to show the registered address where documents can be served. You are also required to display that address on any documentation, invoices, letters etc that the company issues and if those details are not what you entered on your Amazon account, you could face suspension if Amazon ask you for document uploads and the details don’t match.

In your particular situation now, for verification purposes, everything needs to match. Your bank account should show the registered office address, even if that is not your trading address. It could be the office of your accountant, if he / she has agreed it can be used as such. The main idea is that it is the single, standard place where documents can be served. All of your registers should be at the address of the registered office, including your certificate of incorporation as anybody (as in, ANYBODY) can legally ask to see your registers at any reasonable time.

If you have uploaded your trading address details and are unable to verify with official documents as requested, it might be an idea to conact seller support and advise them you have uploaded your trading address and not your registered office by mistake and ask to amend it. Hope this helps (we have been a limited company for a number of years).

Many thanks for the response,
We wanted to be sure our understanding of Amazon’s requirements were correct.
(The request for utilities from our Registered Office would have proven difficult in our case as indeed it is our accountants).
Thanks Again
