Standard returns Message?

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a standard return message one should us when authorizing a return?
At the moment I have been saying the following

"Please return the Product to the address provided.

Once we receive your item, we will inspect it to make sure that the reason for return is valid and we will notify you that we have received your returned item, and that the reason for return is indeed valid. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item. If your refund is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original method of payment."

Is there a better instructions that I should give to the returnee or is this a valid returns message?

Personally, I wouldn’t include any personalised return authorisation message.

But if you choose to have one, make sure it’s easy to understand and fully compliant with Amazon policies.

I would rather use the wording “Once your refund is approved…”.

Also, according to Amazon, returns should be inspected and processed with a refund within no more than 48 hours after receipt. So it would be better to mention the processing time as well.

That comment about the validity of the return reason is liable to worry a few customers.
It may be that you do indeed check the return to see if it fits with the reason given but you have covered this with your next sentence without antagonizing anyone
