Fairly immediately in my experience, probably 15 minutes max until it propagates to all servers.

Hi Azana_Photo_Frames1

Lydia here from Handmade Support UK.

In general, going into ‘holiday mode’ (essentially placing your listings as ‘inactive’) will take effect immediately - that being said, seller support would say, allow up to 4 hours for the system to update fully, and even at that, if there is an issue with the system, it could take up to 24 hours.
A quick check on the catalogue for one of your items will soon tell if it is kicked in or not.

It is worth noting however, when you come back from holidays (hopefully all rested and relaxed) and come off holiday mode (that is, marking your listings as active again) it can take the system a bit longer to activate - here we would say to allow 24 hours for the system to fully update.

On a side note, some general advise for all sellers going on holiday:
Remember to check for pending orders within your Orders > Manage Orders:

and set up an ‘out of office’ or auto-response on your email account so any buyers contacting you are aware that you are away. (This has to be done through your email provider account as Amazon has no access/control over this)

Enjoy your holidays

Ahh, thanks for your advice.

Been two years since I had a good holiday and it’s time to catch up - very much needed, thank you! I’ll be fresh as a daisy when I come back.

Dear Azana_Photo_Frames1,

In answer to your query:

Please note that a pending order is when Amazon have attempted to verify if the buyers credit card will accept the amount of the purchase, and the credit card is currently being validated.

The payment will be put through once every 24 hours for 21 days, or until it is accepted or declined. We ask you for your patience while we attempt to process this payment. If you note that you have a pending order, it may take 1-21 days for this order to come through. If you are on vacation mode, this order will still come through, and will need to meet the shipping times that you have agreed to with your Handling time + shipping time.

There is no need to do this, you will either be able to see a pending order before you go on vacation and you will know to look out for it or not.

To view your pending orders, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Seller Account.

  2. From the Orders tab in your seller account, select Manage Orders and find the order. You can narrow the results or find a particular order using the options in the Search box at the upper left. For more options, click the Advanced Search link.

  3. For more options, click the Advanced Search link. On the following page, select ‘No time limit’ in the ‘Order Placed’ section and tick the ‘Include pending orders’ check box.

  4. Press the ‘Search’ button. Pending orders will appear in grey in order of the purchase date and be listed as ‘Pending’ in the ‘Status’ column.

A Shipping Address indicates that we have secured payment for an order on the buyer’s card and that you are free to dispatch the order. Click on the Order ID to view the Shipping Address and confirm dispatch of the order.

If payment for this order is not completed, the reserved item will move back to your listings automatically with the original quantity.
