I've been trying to get this resolved for years and NOBODY will help me.
I am NOT required to have tracking on my shipments. I sell hand made labels (sheets of paper) , flat first class envelopes under $10 that fall under the exempt VTR policy of :
VTR EXEMPTIONS:
Small and flat packages, such as screen protectors and greeting cards, that cost less than USD 10 (including shipping charges).
Shipped by USPS.
The shipping service is "USPS Standard Mail envelopes” or “USPS First Class Mail envelopes" from the drop down in the shipping service field in Seller Central.

As a result my VTR is 100% which is great!
This policy is in place because USPS WILL NOT provide tracking on first class envelopes that are less than 1/4 inch thick. And that the seller will not make any money if they had to purchase a shipping label on something less than $10.
HERE IS MY PROBLEM!!!!! Why do they tell me I am exempt, knowing it's impossible for me to get tracking because USPS does will not track AND THEN HIT MY ODR when one of these buyer open up an A-Z Claim and they rule against me because I don't have tracking. What the heck??? This is crazy!!!! Why should I be penalized form something that Amazon knows I cannot get? This is just outrageous.
With that being said, I DO stand behind my deliveries. Any time a buyer tells me they did not receive their order, I immediately apologize and refund their money. No questions asked. However, sometimes the buyer will open the A-Z without even communicating with me first to give me a chance to work with them. And I get an A-Z/ODR hit on something I didn't even have knowledge about.
One of 2 things needs to be done. Either do not allow ODR penalties pertaining to tracking on items that are not required to be tracked..........give the buyer a refund but DO NOT hit the seller's ODR.
Or at the very least make it a REQUIREMENT that the buyer tries to resolve issues with the seller BEFORE they are allowed to open an A-Z. I would have ZERO claims on my ODR if at least one of these policies were in place.
I can potentially Lose my Selling Privileges over something I have no control over!!!
Outrageous that Amazon penalizes me for this! Can someone PLEASE do something about this??
