VAT Requirement UK to EU (EFN)
Hi Everyone,
I’m considering setting up European Fulfilment Network and store my stock in the UK (we’re a UK company). I have a VAT number in the UK, do I also need an EU VAT number if I sell via EFN? Or is the UK VAT number ok to use? We don’t intend to stock products in the EU, just sell to customers there via the UK stock.
Thanks
Elliot

if you are using EFN, you don’t need EU VAT numbers as stock is shipped directly to buyers and not stored in EU
You will however need to have EPR registration in France and Germany - WEEE too possibly depending on what you sell
You also need to ensure you price your items in EU to account for VAT and EFN fees - which are quite high

Currently i’m doing SFP using Huboo.
I’m considering doing FBA to qualify for EFN and selling to the US using UK stock.
Thanks for the link for Selling in the USA Neil, however we’re not in a position to start setting up there yet. We just want to make our product available to US customers as cheaply as possible using our UK stock, so the FBA option where Amazon buys from us sounds like a good option.

So we use Huboo for SFP, they send via Royal Mail 24hr tracked.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I said “I’m considering doing FBA to qualify for EFN and selling to the US using UK stock.” I meant EFN and US as two different things, I can see how you all read that meaning it is the same thing.
With regards to the US, the way I see it is if I start using FBA, then Amazon can buy the product from us, list it on the USA Amazon site, and ship to customers there. It is classified as a UK sale for us and so we do not need to pay US sales tax etc.
With regards to International Shipping, is there a rate card for FBA from UK to US?
Cheers,
Elliot
