Customer says he did not place order
As title states , customer just messaged saying he did not place an order that has just been marked as despatched. (Exact message " I never ordered this item ")
Am I right in that I cannot cancel this order now it has been marked despatched without it affecting metrics , and he will have to open return request , then I issue a refund ?
( And obviously ask the customer to change his password !)

You are correct, if the order is already confirmed as shipped, it cannot be cancelled.
Just offer the customer to return it for a refund, assuming that it was dispatched.

Just had a follow up message “I did not order this item and need an authorisation code to give to my bank so they can stop this payment leaving my account”
Any idea what this is about ??
