Hey so im new to Amazon selling i was just wondering is it illegal to resell products online like childs toys that are already branded do i need certain documents to resell them items thanks in advance

Are you reselling merchandise that you have purchased from a store, direct from the manufacturer or an official distributor? It’s highly likely you will require invoices to send to Amazon, they won’t accept till receipts.

There are plenty of re-sellers on Amazon. Don’t be put off too easily and get involved. Just source authentic, genuine products.

Considering amazon has accepted invoices from charity shops, some people in this thread have no idea what there talking about.
And no, as soon as you buy something to resell, you dont immedietly become a business. How do you think general ebay sellers work ? people are allowed to earn up to a certain amount per year as income, once you go over the threshhold then you will need to become a business (i know because amazon suspended me at around £8,000 sales, until i registered as a business)

I agree with Neil once you buy to resale weather from a shop, auction, wholesale or any other place you have become a trader and as such you need to declare it via HMRC.
If not you could be in for a hefty bill if HMRC catch up with you which happened to a person in the town I live. They were buying beauty products form Debenhams and reselling online - HMRC caught up with them and they had years of back tax to pay.
It is better to keep yourself right at the beginning, if you are in doubt ask an accountant who will keep you on the right path.

i re-sell it many times, many of them I purchase from Amazon when they are on sales, and re-sell in Amazon after they finish sales. When they ask for invoice i just provide the proof of my purchase receipts, never have any issues.

Its not illegal to sell used goods on Amazon, its just very hard, its not something Amazon encourages, because its not eBay. Certain products, you can’t sell used, even if said product is out-of-production and you cannot buy it new. Also, many sellers sell things as ‘new’ when they are not, they are just in Mint condition but were not sourced from a wholesaler. And Toys and Games is Gated, but anything over a certain age (it seems) or nil inventory on the product page (it seems), you should be able to get in on. And wether something is a book or a toy, depends on who created the ASIN, although I am aware of Amazon changing Titles and moving categories of ASINs. It was a book yesterday, today its a toy and you can’t sell it.
