Retail arbitrage
Hi
new to amazon so forgive me ,but not sure on best way to tackle this issue, I do retail arbitrage so I source list the product and send to fba warehouse only then on 2 occasions get messages from seller stating I am infringing policy violation as there brand is on the listing but why I’m I allowed to list the product in the first place? and how do I avoid this issue again in the future as this seems to be happening a lot to other people especially when retail arbitrage must make up a lot of the market any help appreciated on this problem please

Firstly, retail arbitrage can be very tricky on Amazon.
If your new, then you won’t have had the check yet. What they will do at some point, is ask you to provide invoices for the stock you have bought, from a manufacturer/wholesaler etc. And if you have bought retail, they won’t authorise it.
People have been using this method of selling for quite some time and do get away with it for a while, but generally they do get caught up.
The problem is, that if you have bought retail, your effectively selling second hand and not new.
As to the policy violation, it’s likely that you have chosen a branded listing, that is not the brand of the product you have tried to sell. As to Amazon allowing you to in the first place, how are they supposed to know that the product you are listing, doesn’t actually match the one you are listing against?
So they are basically giving you the benefit of the doubt.
When you list a product, you must ensure that it matches the EAN number of the item listed. Double check to make sure that it’s not been rebranded by someone else.

retail arbitrage is not a good business model as when amazon asks for invoices which they will at some point it is very unlikely they will accept them as there should only be 1 retailer in the chain and because you have already purchased from a retailer there are now 2 retailers in the chain and are now in amazons eyes second hand even though they may be unopened

Hi
i used third party software to find products and this indicated me to purchase so really it is heading me down a road I shouldn’t take so why are people still on YouTube stating how good it is or is this just a scam really in the long run?

I feel really fed up now as I have sourced around 70 products and sent them to fba but sold some also but afraid I may get another warning so what are my option or I have non so to clarify buy wholesale and start looking at white label goods and forget shops ?

Also not a limited company with UK Suppliers, I’m not intersted in the importing/exporting business, I have enough problems with Brexit getting items from mainland to NI without adding problems haha.
As Littleshop says - google, tradeshows, even local - my main wholesaler is 20 mins drive away.
When I was first starting out in business I bought some box lots from my local auction that contained new items, presumably from shops dumping stock, (by new I mean unopened, however Amazon don’t consider these items new, so if doing this you would need to start on Ebay)

I have asked a accountant on this matter so they confirmed this to

Have been selling on ebay for 20 years this year, and here for quite a long time too. I sell different items on the 2 sites, horses for courses etc. What they have in common is that seller protection from scammers is poor, and we can’t leave negative feedback on either also. Saying that blocking specific buyers on ebay is a useful feature, they should really have it here.

Also started on Ebay, also still there, though Amazon does 3 times my ebay sales, and thats before I even look at FBA
