Customer caught with fraudulent return

Customer on Watch List has now returned an item . We have checked them item (serial numbers etc)
and it is definitely not the item we sent.
We believe the buyer is a Drop Shipper and are purposely purchasing faulty items, from other sources.
These items are then being returned in place of the brand new items they have purchased from us, as a Drop Shipper.
(Customer is on watch list as they have done this before numerous times, however we now have evidence to support out claim)

We would like to open a fraud case, how would we proceed with this and how can we report it to Amazon, to tell them that we are contacting the Police / Fraud Division.

I’d be careful telling Amazon, I think amongst the policies you signed up to there is one where you cant take customers to court.

You can’t take the customer to court if you wish to continue selling on here.

Is it refund on first scan? If not, complete the return with a 99% refund… You let it go to A-Z, plead your case then send it to the MD when you get absolutely no where with the A-Z. Failing that I believe you’d send an LBA and then small claims (but be aware that you’ll likely have to pay the fees for this).

Fraud case, I assume would be police work but I doubt they’ll be interested but you’ll get a case number. Presuming your metrics can take it, I wouldn’t advise shipping to this customer. It’s a shame you can’t block customers.

You could message one of the mods for advice on reporting buyer

And if it was refund at first scan - you’d open a Safe-T claim with the evidence that you have received a different item back

Hello @ Stone_Republic_Clot1,

I suggest to report this behavior to Amazon. Below you can find a link to the Report Abuse page:

You can use option "An abuse issue that is not addressed by the other topics in this menu "

If you have more questions during this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Kind regards,
Julia.
