Product Recall Letter

Hi all, I need some help with a letter regarding a product recall.

Amazon have removed one of my listings due to a product recall, the problem is, it doesn’t apply to my item.

The product recall in question was hollow milk chocolate santa’s from the Co-op and Thorntons.

My chocolate Santa is a tiny solid milk chocolate. The co-op and Thorntons ones are large hollow ones. The manufacturer confirms there has never been a recall on our product.

I tried to appeal, but Amazon are requiring a letter from the manufacturer. The manufacturer is willing to do this, but wants to know what format Amazon would want it in (knowing how awkward Amazon is with these kinds of things)

Does anyone know what form this letter needs to take? Has anyone else had to do this?

This is from Amazon:

We understand that you want your ASIN to be reinstated.

We have investigated your query and reviewed the information you have provided. We have found out that the documents provided is insufficient to resolve your issue. In order for us to proceed with the investigation, please respond to this message and provide the requested details in order for us to continue our efforts to resolve this issue.

A letter of compliance with the following criteria:
a- The letter is printed on the manufacturer’s letterhead
b- The letter is signed
c- ASIN(s) match
d- UPC/EAN(s)
e- Name of the product
f- A statement of how the product is not subject to the recall. (For ex: You should describe how the corrected product can be differentiated from the recalled version; e.g. new serial numbers, manufactured after X day, etc.)

Please be advised that the letter must be coming from the manufacturer.

One thought was it forwarded by yourself from manufacturer or did they send it direct to Amazon?
Not sure but may make a difference.

Seems fairly clear to me unlike most communications you get from amazon.
Have you forwarded that requirement to the manufacturer surely they know what’s need.

This i read as the manufacturer needs to contact them directly.

We had this a couple years ago.

Where a different colour was recalled to what we had.
But amazon in there wisdom sent out a message to all customers who bought all the colours as well there was a recall.

It took us a month or so and repeated sending letter from manufacturer it was unaffected to reinstate it etc. And before that losses of A-Z etc

It’s just a robotic system that’s flawed again
