Customers returning items where they have removed the item from the box
We sell with FBA in the main. Every couple of weeks we receive our removal order of customer returned items. Every now and again we’ll come across items that have been returned where the customer has kept the item and just returned the box. Has anyone else experienced this? and is there any recourse?
In the past, we have just taken it on the chin, but it seems a bit unfair that someone can basically steal products in such a way

or has the customer perhaps genuinely received an empty box (tampered in transit or in amazon warehouse) which they have then returned and it was then booked back into the warehouse as “customer damaged”?

You can open a case with seller central check the return reason first.
My pet hate is when a customer takes part of the product and says its parts missing when they are not
