Buyer demanded s+h refunded, opened return request no longer needed, then opened a-z claim

This buyer 1st demanded a full refund on shipping and handling. The buyer admitted to buying in error; thinking this was free shipping and handling, even though checkout shows the shipping and handling. Buyer further demanded that I give them a full refund for shipping and handling for no reason whatsoever...several different x's on email.
Buyer then opened a return, requesting claiming return reason: 'No longer needed' and wrote nothing else as the exact reason why.
Buyer opened a-z claim, it's being withheld atm, but will reopen If I don't issue buyer a full refund upon return.
I'm asking someone at Amazon to look into the buyers clear errors here and to back me up with issuing buyer restocking fee

If the buyer opened a return request once the item is returned you have to issue the refund, most likely it will be refunded at first scan automatically. Not much you can do here but round once item is returned.

not to say that it'll be the same for you but I had a case of no longer needed where a customer fought for the outbound and return shipping back since it did not auto refund (the person is a habitual returner so that's probably why) and they won at first, but I got it back on appeal.

Well, you can do what they ask or risk a 1-star review. Crappy situation but I always error on the side of my feedback so I always do what my customers ask and then just price in these lovely situations into my selling prices. UGH, I get it but its part of the game so sell sell sell and don't look back.
PS-I am sure you know this but NEVER mention reviews or feedback, etc in any communications to your customers either. That is most likely seen by Amazon as feedback manipulation. So NEVER even talk about it to your customers. We got dingggged on that over a year ago and we almost lost our account. Just be carful and make sure you fully understand how Amazon would like you to work with your customers.

This is not to make a big fuss about. Amazon handles these returns. Just say there is nothing you can do. In case of an AZ, it becomes a cost benefit. Can you afford a strike? For the rest, just move on as quick as you can, as Amazon is not known to be a fair and balanced place. It is a place where you can sell some stuff, at a price.
