First shipment from China
Hi everyone,
Firstly can I just say how amazing you amazon veterans are! I hope to be as helpful to new users when I’m also a little more experienced.
I am a new seller, just about to create my first listing and order my first shipment of stock from a Chinese manufacturer but I have a few questions.
Firstly is it possible to get my manufacturer to apply FNSKU labels to my products if I send them over the labels supplied by amazon or does this need to be done after they enter the UK?
Secondly when it comes to creating a listing, is it possible to enter all the information I currently have other than the product photos so that I can get a warehouse address to send to the manufacturer.
Thirdly if labelling has been taken care of or I use amazons labelling service is it possible to just get my stock sent directly to the amazon warehouse instead of to a third party or my own address first?
Again I really appreciate the help guys.
Thanks, Chris.

Hi Welcome to selling, be ready for ups and downs.
Firstly one thing I will say from experience is just be careful what items you purchase from China, just because other sellers list them doesn’t mean you will have no problems selling them or that there is even a market for them. Many Chinese manufacturers sell the same products directly on Amazon either via FBA or FBM and undercut other sellers by some degree.
That being said there are still items you can get that have a market on Amazon.
Most suppliers will apply the labels for you some will do this free and some will try to charge you, at the end of the day you are not committed to any other the sellers until you pay so if they are being difficult go elsewhere.
You can create listings and many times I request high def pictures from the sellers as one of the requirements of buying from them most the time they have these, you will actually need to create your listing first anyway before you can then get FNSKU labels.
Again supplier dependent most will be happy to send directly to FBA however I use a separate shipping agent in China who is a lot cheaper than suppliers and is use to shipping FBA. You will also need to send the supplier or shipping agent the Amazon labels that go on the box and also provide the address of the FBA centre.

Since you are a new seller doing FBA struggling with the most basic questions, you will firstly need to carefully review all Amazon help files, which include detailed instructions, videos and guidelines concerning every step of the process.
Start with the general FBA help page:
https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/help.html?itemID=53921&ref=ag_53921_cont_home
Here you can click on the terms highlighted in blue to read more if there is something which isn’t clear to you or in case you would like to learn more.
Also, here is a Seller University help page regarding FBA:
Regarding the products, research whether they don’t violate anyone’s intellectual property rights and be prepared that Amazon may request you to provide them valid invoices to verify the authenticity of your inventory anytime, without any prior complaints from customers.
Chinese invoices are rarely accepted, that’s why it would be better to start with some products purchased from EU/US manufacturer’s instead, until you establish a selling history and learn how the entire site works.

Thanks, I understand that. Surely there’s got to be some way around that or no one would be able to import from China?
I’m not selling counterfeit goods so it should be ok anyway hopefully?
Thanks.

Is this still likely to be the case if it’s a generic beauty product without any leading brand so it wouldn’t just be an unbranded copy and would have my own logo and packaging design etc?
Is there no way to protect myself against this because obviously I’d be putting a lot of money into this. Thanks for the help!
