Read onlyAm I right to think that on Amazon I now have to pay for all returns including "accidental orders"? I sell media (music) which is easy to rip/copy. This means people can use me as a free music library service? Had one today, quite expensive set, return requested for "accidental order" and Amazon has auto approved and generated a label for them which I presume I will be charged for. No way to avoid this? God I hate this site.
There are some categories that this is true for, but I didn't think media was one of them. I thought media was still reason dependent.
I think you might be misunderstanding the auto generated returns labels. They will be generated for any return and charged to you, BUT once the refund is applied for the return, the label price should be deducted from the refund where the buyer selected a return reason that is the responsibility of the buyer, such as accidental orders.
Do remember that any return for any reason will cost you money. Amazon charges a returns processing fee, even when the customer raises a return and doesent actually return anything.
You will be charged for EVERY return label at the point is is scanned when the customer returns the order. This is irregardless of the return reason.
However, at the point of first scan, when hte customer is refunded, if the return reason is one where the buyer would be liable for the return cost, then the price of the label is deducted from the refund.
Note you can avoid being charged for the labels by requesting to seller support that you wish to remove yourself from the amazon prepaid return label scheme. However, you would then need to approve or reject all return requests manually and provide a prepaid label (or refund return postage) where you are liable for the return costs.
You just have to accept this happens, in my experience, not very often
You should be able to tick a box and charge the Buyer for return postage (not if item is defective as often they choose as the reason).
If the item is sealed and opened, you can also charge a fee for media, but you may get bad feedback.
To try and avoid bad feedback, I suggest wrap the package (eg CD case) and note on it, if seal broken, then a 50% fee charged if returned as Buyer Remorse unwanted. Show, if returned and sealed, then a full refund applies. Also note return postage is charged.
If automated refund, and return postage not deducted, then claim on a Safe-T Claim.
