Unable to post items due covid

Hi all, I wonder you can help me with a predicament.

I have listed some second hand books and have received a couple of orders.
However, I have just found out that I have covid and am unable to leave the house to post them.
How can I cancel the orders without risking bad feedback? All the reasons for cancellation are unfortunately not valid for my situation.

I’ve had a look and to my suprise I can’t find any similar issues on the forum.
I’d be very grateful for any help.

Harry

I’d say you are unlikely to get feedback unless you were in prior communication with the buyers. The bigger issue is your account health, but at the end of the day if you cannot send the items then you have no real choice but to cancel (that i can think of).

Do activate holiday mode though to prevent further orders - i put mine on 3 weeks ago for similar reasons.

I hope you have a speedy recovery.

If you cannot fulfil your orders you will have to cancel but explain the situation to your buyers, offer to keep the items until you are recovered and invite them to repurchase if they choose to.

You also need to explain the situation to Seller Support.

Put Account on Holiday.

Then send your parcels with Hermes COLLECTION, or Royal Mail COLLECTION.

They will collect from you as long as you take precautions:
1: Disinfect any outer wrapping.
2: Put parcel in an area where the driver does not have to enter your house. So, open the door and parcels there for them, or in a porch is even better.

If you cancel, that will be detrimental to Account Health, so it is best to pay more and have a collection from the courier and resolve that way.

Hope you get well soon

i’d just arrange collection with royal mail… you pay for postage and pay for collection after online, its 60p extra per parcel, they pick it up doing their round.

I would suggest getting a friend or neighbour to process the order until you get better. It does not take long to pack a couple of books and arrange to take them to the post office after the orders have been processed put the account on holiday mode.

RM offer a pick up for 72p and Herrms for 50p per parcel.

By the time you have read all the posts the order would have been packed and out the door

I was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer. But still had orders to fulfil. Amazon had no sympathy and nor did my customers, my account was shut down due to this. I suggest you get someone close to ship them to the post office for you then put the account in holiday mode until you are feeling better. You may get bad metrics for cancelling orders.

Good luck
