Seller Profile Page
How do I modify the listed “Business Name” and address under “Detailed seller information” within my seller profile page. The business is an established LLC and therefore I should not see a personal (private) name listed here.
I’ve reached out to support without much of success. They have mentioned that it should be based on my Tax ID information, however the address listed is different from the address listed under my Tax ID within Settings. I have modified the Tax info to reflect this change and it did not show any changes to my seller profile.
Questions:
- If I list a “Doing business as” under my Tax ID will it override my personal name?
- Is there any other specs I should modify that may be driving the “Detailed Seller Information”
- Is there any legal course of action to fix this?

For anyone interested in the answer for the initial query. I figured it out on my own.
Without going into too much detail it seems as though on the W9 the Name is the item that adjusts the “Business name” in “Detailed seller information”. The “Business name /disregarded entity” doesn’t seem to matter for the “detailed seller information” which is absurd.
So to get your business name listed in the “detailed seller information” you have update tax info under your business EIN and use your business name as “Name”. Try until it automatically approves you (if it wants to wait 24/48 hours you did something wrong). Hint: do not use your personal name ANYWHERE (hint hint) when filling out form… [other than “disregarded entity name”].
I have not idea if this will mess up my taxes. But that’s a problem for future me.

What is shown on my seller profile:
What is shown on my tax settings
- will also note that in the DBA box I also added my business entity name (not personal)
As you can see the tax settings show my personal name but also home address. So if amazon support’s theory was correct my home address would show up on my seller profile as well.

Pretty much what HDMS said. I’ve looked into this months ago also and have gotten the same results sadly.

Update so I tried updating my tax identity information, and 48 hours later… BAM still doesn’t work. Actually It was completely rejected.
Does no one else sell as a single entity LLC? There must be a way to list my Business name as my Business name. This is ridiculous.
Do I need to contact the IRS?

I have registered my LLC with my secretary of state along with registered trade names of my business (these are DBA?). I’m lookin into how to notify the IRS of this (or if I already have), and if I need to.
I’ve already submitted this but when I fill out the “Legal Entity” tax information this image is what my W9 looks like:
I expect the business name listed in “Business Name” to be shown as my “Business name” on Amazon. We shall see if this is accepted and how it populates my seller profile.

Go to settings>account info>seller information>store details>edit. That should change the name. The address I don’t believe can be changed

There is a way of uncovering seller information when the profile page is only showing the name and not the address. If you have both the seller’s profile page and the storefront open, you will notice that in the URL they have different values for sellerID (“seller=XXXXX” for the profile page, and “me=XXXXX” on the storefront page). All you have to do is replace the value from the profile page URL with the value from the storefront page URL and voila!

Good Evening @Diane and other sellers interested in knowing more about what information is displayed to buyers.
The team I was working with located this Seller Central page about what information is displayed to buyers and why. You can edit some of your information by following directions posted there.
I did see @Observer's URL callout. I am unsure how changing your information using the Seller Central article I just posted will affect the different URL links @Observer discussed above.
If a seller happens to edit their information and wants to test the URLs to see what happens, please feel free to report back to us with.
Take care everyone. Happy Holidays!
