Misclassified as Toy: Adhesive Whiteboard Boards Blocked Under "Children’s Toys" Compliance

Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out for help or insight regarding a recurring issue affecting our business.

We sell magnetic self-adhesive boards (chalkboard-style), designed for visual learning, home organization, and planning. They adhere to walls and support light magnetic accessories. However, several of our ASINs have been incorrectly classified by Amazon as "Children’s Toys", which has triggered compliance requirements under CPSIA and ASTM F963.

These products:

* Have no small parts or electronic components

* Are not intended for unsupervised play

* Are permanently installed on walls (non-removable)

* Are marketed as educational/organizational tools

We’ve submitted appeals stating that these items are not toys, supported by technical datasheets and comparison with similar active listings, but they remain blocked under “Toys.” This misclassification has directly impacted our sales and visibility.

If any fellow sellers have faced similar issues—or if someone has successfully resolved a misclassification under “Children’s Products”—we’d love to hear how you approached it or what path worked.

Thanks in advance for any guidance or shared experiences.

Hi @Seller_TM1ePUEss87M6,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your product being flagged as children's toys. Please share your compliance case IDs that are related to this, and I'll review to see what options exist for escalation.

Regards,

- Manny
