Problems with inventory when closing a listing
Have tried looking through forums see if anyone else had posted about this recently, and can’t see anything …
Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with inventory when they close a listing?
Not deleting but just closing. (so can make active again later)
Up until a few days ago when in the inventory I clicked close listing the item went to “closed (inactive)” but retains/saves the quantity.
Now if you close it automatically zeros the stock and sets as "Inactive (Out of Stock) "
Ps. If you’re going to try it, if you don’t already have a record elsewhere, make a note of the quantity incase it removes it also.

Strange that nobody talks about it, I have the same problem, absurd.
Is Amazon setting the price for corporate customers at your place too? This could be a big problem.
I have had this problem since Saturday and the prices for corporate customers started appearing today.
Sorry for Google Translate.

Out of interest, and since it was mentioned that no one else was talking about it as an issue, what is the reason for needing to close and re-open listings on a regular basis?

It’s helpful as you don’t have to re check quantities when you make them available again…
Couple of reasons I close listings temporarily are…
Problem buyers (sometimes dropshippers), that have had losses with before. When they start buying / targetting a product, it protects from having to cancel swathes of orders and risk a account health. (Amazon have admitted the maximum order quantity per customer option does not always work, after I got multiple orders from same account each for the maximum set).
Sometimes products can only go by one particular courier. If I know going to be problems getting to them or getting collected by them I’ll temp close for a few days
The other reasons I’ve used the close listing are when found a possible issue with the listing itself (someone’s changed it) or cannot find stock I’ll temporarily close til sorted.
Or finally a product is going well elsewhere (where I make more, less charges, and no extra Amazon burden eg free returns labels where goods are then lost and max £20 compensation, no immediate refunds etc). But as is always there will be swings and roundabouts, so when other channels slow, I relist them on Amazon.
I know can just zero them, and do if definitely not going to sell them on Amazon again, but is easier if stock is saved and don’t have to recheck quantities.l
As The close facility is meant to work, there was just a glitch after an update that caused the issues.
