Shipping From UK to Amazon US FBA

Hi All. We are currently looking at sending our first shipment in to Amazon US FBA, however there are loads of questions we need answering. Just wanted to know if anyone could help with the below;

Any good freight forwarders that you have worked with? (Tried Shapiro but they aren’t doing any Amazon or ecommerce currently)
Does it matter where in the US we are shipping product to?
Likelihood is it will be at least a container load of product, what sort of tax implications will this bring?

We send a few boxes a year to USA thats al at the moment and its annoying as they split boxes to different states and so can get very expensive as we send via UPS , its the cheapest we can find as our boxes are not very big.
