Anyone taken Amazon to court?

Hello all,

Has anyone on these pages ever started a small court claim against Amazon for lost inventory shipped to one of their FC’s? And more importantly did your account survive the journey?

They have lost one of my pallets at LBA4 and Seller Support are now refusing to answer my case and state that supplier invoices must be dated no more than six months before proof of delivery. Mine was 6 months and 11 days! Bit of a stupid rule as goods are taking so long to get here from China.

Thanks.

Yes, several times but only a few £100s per claim, not a whole pallet

Yes, no issues

Contact managingdirector@amazon.co.uk, if they won’t help, you may have to go the legal route. However, I am not familiar with the 6 month rule. Is that in their T&Cs?

Hopefully it won’t go that far. Use the managing director route and then issue a Letter Before Action before you go any further (legally). Also, you may get the option of mediation, which may prevent the need for court action?

I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago with a shipment delivered and then “lost”. After a lot of messages backward and forward, I got it sorted by asking for contact details of the legal department so I could claim through the small claims court. They still claimed that my shipment couldn’t be found but I was reimbursed for all the units.

Be aware, that the products may be lost in transit, few years ago I had few situation with Fedex for shipments UK-US, that amazon didn’t get full shipment, for some reason, don’t remember why, 3 parcels were returned once to me, one parcel was half empty.
Amazon didn’t get these parcels, but some products were missing.
Amazon is only fuly responsible, if shipment is in partnered carrier programme.

I guarantee if people had the cajonies to do it, they would lose on a whole load of things, rules to their own and think they are untouchable, fact they make millions and have outside people helping others on a forum spending literally hours a day of their own time without getting paid and help more than they actually do says more than enough. I am not anti amazon, but it’s quite incredible what they get away with

Just an update on this for anyone interested, I sent a Letter Before Court Claim by email to managingdirector@amazon.co.uk and received a full reimbursement within two weeks of sending it as they considered the units ‘lost’.
