Read onlySadly I was flooded out last week and some inventory (books & records) were destroyed. I managed to unlist all titles for sale that got wet but had an order suddenly appear today that says Expleted order but is a book title that was destroyed. To add insult to injury they paid £8.98 to be delivered quickly even though it says order was from 6 days ago (the day I had the flood)
I couldn't take the destroyed items out of inventory immediately because I didn't know I could even turn the computer on safely until a day later. But why did the order appear 6 days later & there was no late shipment warning?
Happily my insurance covers me for floods & they might even replace the exact book titles. I have obviously cancelled the order but amazon doesn't let you put in exact reason which is a bit unfair.
If it only appeared now, it was probably stuck in pending saying 'awaiting payment authorisation', or w/e the exact text of that message says. I'm guessing it's telling you to dispatch today?
If they thought it was late, it would be flagged as overdue in your order list.
"... amazon doesn't let you put in exact reason which is a bit unfair."
They obviously cannot allow for all possible reasons for cancellation, so presumably you just used' no inventory' ? The pre-fulfilment cancellation rate on your Account Health will only be there for 7 days, so shouldn't be a problem.....ad as above reply, if it wasn't flagged as late dispatch then it was presumably pending.
If I ever have to cancel an order for any reason I always message the buyer before cancelling with an explanation, and saying I hope they can find another that is suitable, especially if someone has paid extra for expedited shipping, then I would say that is good customer service.
