Feedback From Buyers
Hi, My wife and I both had Covid in December and then again in April and ended up with Long Covid. To help at the time we downgraded our shop to a personal account but since have reopened our shop. We are working hard to increase sales again. However we’ve noticed that although buyers left feedback when we reopened the shop they have now stopped. We’ve tried to message them politely asking if everything was OK with their order and if possible could they leave us feedback but Amazon are sending them all back saying the buyer has opted out of receiving messages. A while back some buyers opted out but now it is every buyer we are messaging. I know that some will say feedback doesn’t matter but I think it does, if someone has a better feedback rating buyers will mostly buy from the person with higher feedback. As I can see it feedback will just get lower and lower, or is this now something that will eventually make it so that third party selling on Amazon is no longer a viable option. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can request feedback rather than messaging on the order page. Tbh If a seller messaged me every time I bought something for feedback I would opt out. We get low rates of feedback but it is what it is. I only lose sleep when poor feedback is left for no reason or buyers use it incorrectly lol

Tbh not many amazon buyers leave feedback - especially compared to ebay where feedback is reciprocal
Atm we are getting about 8 feedback from every 10000 orders

Thanks everyone, so do you find you still sell without buyers leaving feedback and feedback rates going down? Should I not be stressing about it?

Be careful what you wish for! I get1 in 12 reviews but recently someone whose package was fine said I should invest in better packaging. He said that he hadn’t realised that Amazon would take this as a poor review- he meant it only as a comment.Result - my metrics now show 98% instead of 100% ( on about 500 sales a year.) Not as bad as the 75 percenters or the 90% ones but still bad.Have you noticed by the way that when you look through the 90% reviews it doesn’t seem to reflect a 1 in 10 negative?

One feedback this year and I don’t care

Thanks everyone, will not stress over it, sales are still coming in. Can I ask as well how do you ask Amazon to review your velocity limit and what is involved?

Hi Neil, Thanks for that, I was getting confused, is there a way to get Amazon to up the limit of how much you can sell per week. Prior to downgrading our shop in February re having Covid we were earning more and now the weekly amount is much less. I’m not sure if it’s just a case of waiting?

We aren’t on FBA. We didn’t close our store it was just downgraded by Amazon on our request so that we didn’t pay fees and weren’t selling. We then restarted the store but added handmade items too. Whenever we sell on Amazon there is not much difference in the weekly amount paid into our bank account, it may fluctuate by a few pounds. Now we have reopened it we are selling about half the amount we used to but again each week the amount paid into our account is much the same as the week before. Our account is in good health. We can disburse daily.

Thanks Neil, that’s what we’re working towards but just wondered as our sales are nigh on the same week in week out, back to basics I think.
