Return within 14 days for customer damaged item
Hey all,
Because of COViD I got got into a bit of MFN whereas I am normally exclusively FBA. Any how, I got an MFN request for a set of 4 printer ink cartridges with the reason “incompatible or not useful.”
This is within the 14 day window…as such am I forced to issue the return? Say that the buyer ordered the wrong ink and only found out after opening the box and unsealing each ink cartridge…am I forced to issue a full return in that scenario?
Btw I plan on issuing a full return just to avoid issues!

Hi Frank R,
For a returns request within 14 days from receipt a buyer is entitled to a full refund of the original product price including standard shipping cost. This is their statutory right irrespective of the reason.
You can apply a depreciation value that can be deducted from any return reflecting it’s loss in value but only if the item/s are no longer in the same condition as when you sent them (still allowing for inspection.)

I have already authorised the return so this is more of a theoretical discussion now…
How does an “ordered the wrong part” return work when the customer only discovers he/she ordered the wrong item after opening the box, unsealing the item, and attempting to install it? I mean, it says in the box the models of printers the ink works in.
I have no idea what condition these inks will be in when returns but it is hard to take a £100 pound loss because the customer ordered the wrong item then destroyed the item trying to use it…

Doesn’t the regulations on returns state that the seller can give a lesser refund if items are damaged within the 14 days?
