Your Offer(s) that are not eligible to be a Featured Offer

I’m receiving the following email from Amazon:

The following offer(s) in your catalogue are currently ineligible to be the Featured Offer because they are not priced competitively compared to other retailers outside of Amazon.

Visit [Pricing Health] within the Pricing section of Seller Central to lower your price and restore Featured Offer eligibility.

First: The link Amazon include shows a page that has mover and when I go to the page I’m redirected to it shows my pricing dashboard but not the items in question.

Second: I have some children’s books priced at £5.99 including postage but some sellers are offering these at £2.99 with free postage. This doesn’t bother me. If others want to give their stock away that’s their choice but it’s something I won’t be doing.

The point is, like many other I pay a subscription to sell on Amazon. They take their extortionate commission and now they are saying that my listings won’t be visible unless I sell them at a price that makes me a loss.

I will be removing these items from Amazon and listing them elsewhere on a well known site that isn’t so overbearing!

I just don’t get it!

So it appears like Amazon is already slowly starting to enforce their Marketplace Fair Pricing Policy across the European site as well:

Currently, they are only causing offers to lose the BuyBox but in the USA, sellers can have their listings completely blocked or accounts suspended.

Just to ask have you looked in to some of the programmes Amazon has to offer?
I have been looking in to the Small and Light Programme and it is saving me nearly £2 per listing in Amazon fees.
Maybe this is why other sellers are cheaper?

This is a JOKE. Amazon qoutes some of the prices cheaper than we actually buy the items, then significant Amazon fee needs to be added to that price, then postage, our profit and insurance.

Amazon is losing plot!

Hi, yes we started getting these a few days ago.

We asked seller support:

Question:
Where is evidence of the other retailers outside of Amazon price? Can you provide URL’s so we can investigate?

ANSWER:
Please know that we do not reveal the names of competitors, the Competitive Price is determined based on prices from a list of major national retailers. This list is reviewed regularly to ensure competitors are relevant for each country and product group. Hence we will not be able to provide you with the information related to the other retailers outside Amazon.

For more information, please refer to the below help page:

https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/help.html/?itemID=GSTH6YN3BR8XNWBW&ref_=xx_GSTH6YN3BR8XNWBW_a_r8_cont_sgsearch&referral=A2X8SND3LKDCC8_A26I8OKV1M9S69&referral=A2X8SND3LKDCC8_A35C01DR8FGZ90

QUESTION:
On Pricing Dashboard I cannot find items shown on the email?

Please know that the buy box win will show items which are priced not more than 5% above the Buy Box and the Price Competitiveness shows the -listings priced more than 10% higher than the suggested lower price ranked by estimated sales potential.

As the ASIN: B0744M4BVJ percentage of fee difference is more than the required percentage- That is- 9.11- 7.99= 1.12, 1.12/7.99*100= 14%. Hence you are unable to view the ASIN provided in the email on the pricing dashboard.

The issue we have is:

  1. we do not have the profit margin to always match another retailer
  2. it is not like for like i.e. Prime delivered item £9.09 vs £7.99 free delivery over £25 to click and collect Post Office

In an ideal world customers would be getting the best prices all the time but this is no viable in a free marketplace! What about airline prices during school holidays etc.

I think that if Amazon want to ensure prices are matched, then they should match the price and fund the difference from their own pocket.

If a seller loses buy box = less sales = harms cashflow = increased storage fees at FC = negative circle!

This has replaced Amazon price parity policy from a few years ago. For those of you with your own website, you might want to search your logs for a crawler called “Aranhabot” and take “appropriate” action.

I fail to see anything fair about this fair pricing policy. What’s fair is to let seller charge what they want/have to for their products and let the buyers decide.
