Read onlyHi,
Can someone please guide me about the marketplace facilitator tax we have charged on every order now we have passed the verification of the UK business established but still don't know why they charged on every order.
We are a local UK seller purchases the goods locally and sends the inventory to Amazon warehouse if someone has any information about marketplace tax please share your remarks
Well, Amazon seem to believe that you are an overseas seller which then requires them to collect VAT on your sales.
That could be because until recently the sole director of the business was resident outside of the UK. Obviously i don't know whether the new UK-based director has been verified with Amazon - if not then there's a need to get that done as perhaps that may change things.
If that was done then i don't know what criteria Amazon have used. Perhaps having a "made up" business address in the UK is the reason. By "made up" i mean using a virtual office.
I think the only people that can help you are amazon at this point. From previous threads there was a lot of confusion - which didn't really help matters.
If you 100% believe you are UK based and as such should not be charged a Marketplace Facilitator Tax - you need to raise this with Amazon.
Did you get anywhere with this, because i am in exactly the same situation and have been for 8 weeks!!
