Franking/Mailmark and tracking
I know there is a massive thread about whether tracking will be enforced, but this is a question about the best option for getting royal mail tracking integrated with Amazon…
Currently I have a franking machine (non mail mark) which the contract is due for renewal soon. This is the simple place a package onto the weigh scale, select your postage type and print a label. This works great for us as we send about 20 items a day, 98% are large letter or letter all weighing different amounts.
I would just move to a mailmark machine, but I don’t see how the 2D barcodes would be matched with the Amazon order.
What options do other sellers use, there seems to be loads of ways to pay for postage now. I certainly don’t want to end up manually typing in tracking codes or to start paying more for postage (e.g. buying postage via seller central).
I considered PPI, but again, how would the tracking codes get tied to each order?

I am currently looking at my options as well after reviewing the last few weeks threads about tracking etc.
Currently my preferred method is ppi with oba which gets me my bulk discounts but has the disadvantage of no tracking unless i do bpr and scan the label into the confirm dispatch which amazon accepts as standard tracking but not for premium or 2 day services. I have currently withdrawn from 2 day and one day services due to issues with order tracking. I also have click and drop available which works well and integrates with amazon but I don’t get the bulk manifest discounts because I tend to dispatch an order as it comes in rather than trying to do 6 at once whilst also serving in the shop but there appears to be an advantage of the barcode being printed by click and drop so bpl effectively becomes proof of delivery saving me the recorded fee.
I am waiting to have tracked 24 and 48 switched back on, when they are I will go back to premium shipping but the increased cost will be on the orders.
What is for certain is that the days of offering free shipping are over.

Thanks for the reply, I am going to register with OBA as I don’t seem to have access to this yet and then with “Click and Drop” as from a technical perspective this is exactly the type of integration I was expecting. But, I thought click and drop was the standard stamp prices.
Of course the registration for OBA is not working at the moment. So I’ll update this thread when I find out.
