To fix the alert please reduce the size of your title
So I’ve just used the bulk upload via file where it clearly states 500 characters is the max. Same with hovering over the i icon next to item name.
However I’ve just had some suppressed for having 300 characters.
A search in the sidebar help shows only 200 I think 
Is it actually 200 for everyone, and Amazon haven’t bothered to be consistent and the 500 they show is wrong? I can’t be the first to have this issue.

The title length limit is 200 characters for everyone. Also, any non-media ASIN may be search-suppressed if it violates any of the following criteria:

The title exceeds 200 characters, including spaces.

The title contains promotional phrases, such as “free shipping”, “100% quality guaranteed”.

The title contains characters for decoration, such as ~ ! * $ ? _ ~ { } # < > | * ; ^ ¬ ¦

The title contains no product-identifying information, such as “hiking boots” or “umbrella”.
