Defective item is clearly not defective, how to get it back into regular inventory?
Hey guys,
This probably isnt even worth the time bothering about, but I would like to know the best process for this incase it happens again.
So we had a customer purchase one of our FBA items (a pack of alloy wheel nuts) and they returned it with the reason that the item is damaged/defective and they left the comment “the bolt bushes are excessively loose”. To me this does not make any sense whatsoever - the only thing that springs to mind is that this person did not realize that the washers on this nut are rotatable (which is the standard design).
Seller support have already sent me images of the supposed defective unit and from all of the pictures I can clearly see that there is nothing wrong with the item at all.
I reopened my case with SS but am not getting anywhere.
Essentially I have a unit that has been wrongly classed as defective, so how do I get it back into regular inventory? Or am I just going to have to create a removal order?

Unfortunately, since the unit was deemed as Customer Damaged and Unfulfillable, you will need to create a removal order and have it returned back.
Amazon will not change the disposition for you on a request.
Then if you determine that there is nothing wrong with it, you can ship it into FBA again as a part of a different shipment.

It’s frustrating but the easiest thing to do would just be to create a removal order, particularly if you’re just talking about 1 unit.
When you get your item back, you can inspect it and re-package if necessary then send it back to FBA (or wait until you have a few).
Items go into unfulfillable inventory if they are returns from a customer, but sometimes just if something weird happens at a FC. Arguing with seller support rarely worth it
