Defective Metrics & Buyer Financial Conflict of Interest
Why are we as Sellers judged by metrics where the buyer has a financial conflict of interest in choosing their return reason? Buyers will always overwhelmingly choose a return reason that gets them free return shipping. The result is we Sellers have higher "defective" return reasons and are in turn punished. If "defective" is chosen by the customer, the Seller should be given the opportunity to perform an inspection and provide results back to Amazon before buyers are given full refunds.
We perform an inspection on each returned item and 99% are not defective and within spec. The remaining 1% cannot be tested for various reason, like being the item being returned in pieces.
Amazon shouldn't be utilizing metrics where financial conflict of interest exists with the customer.
