Confirming Shipments
Are you familiar with the process of confirming your shipments with Amazon? Below, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of confirming your shipments, and how the process differs depending on the type of order.
First, if you've purchased shipping through Amazon Buy Shipping, you don't need to worry about manually confirming the shipment — we take care of that for you automatically. However, if you're using a different shipping method, you'll need the following information to confirm your shipment:
- Ship date
- Carrier
- Shipping service (or Ship method)
- Tracking ID (valid tracking number supplied by the carrier)
- Ship from address (the actual address from which you shipped the order)
Confirming shipments by uploading feed files:
If you prefer to upload feed files to confirm your shipments, you'll need to provide a Supply Source ID (S2 ID), which is a unique identifier for a location. You can find your S2 ID in the Shipping settings under the Locations tab or on the GET S2 API.
Confirming an individual shipment for one order:
- Locate the order in Manage Orders and click Confirm Shipment in the Action column
- On the Confirm shipment page, enter the required information: Ship date, Carrier name, Shipping service or Ship method, Ship from address, and Tracking ID
- (Optional) Add any special notes about the order in the Seller memo field
- Click Confirm Shipment
Sending multiple shipments for one order:
- After confirming the first shipment, click Add a Package at the bottom of the Confirm Shipment page
- From the Items in package drop-down menu, select the correct number of items in that package. The remaining items will be automatically moved to the other package
- Enter the required information for the second package: Ship date, Carrier name, Shipping service or Ship method, Ship from address, and Tracking ID
- (Optional) Add any special notes about the order in the Seller memo field
- Click Confirm Shipment
After you confirm your shipment, we'll take care of a few important steps:
- Charge the buyer for the order
- Credit your seller account for the order
- Send a shipping confirmation email to the buyer
- Update the buyer's Amazon account with the shipping information
Important notes:
If you make a mistake when entering information, such as the tracking ID, you can edit the shipment. In Manage Orders, click Edit Shipments next to the order, click the Edit Shipment at the top right, and then click Re-confirm Shipment.
If you receive an order for multiple items and send them individually, the customer will be charged immediately after the first item, even if the items are shipped in multiple deliveries.
If you deliver an order by hand, you can choose Other as the carrier.
