Creating Variations - Reviews and rankings
Hi All,
I have some questions about variations.
I currently have a listing on Amazon EU marketplaces, let’s say its a green cup. I want to add a variation, say a red cup.
I understand I have to add a new parent listing rather than update the existing green cup listing and then move the green and red cup listings under the parents.
Currently I have good ranking and good reviews under the green cup listing. If I create a new parent listing will I lose the ranking and reviews? Will they be transferred to the new parent listing? And what will happen to the new red cup listing? Will it have reviews and rank?

Usually, when you create a variation any items within it will share reviews (meaning the total appears on both items)
for example if the red cup has 70 reviews and the green has 30, then both of them will display 100.
Sales rank is separate per-item, however only the most popular item in the variation will show up in search results under normal circumstances.
However we’ve noticed recently that some items are not sharing reviews within a variation, not sure if Amazon is changing this slowly or it’s a bug.
