Totally flawed logic for OTDR calculation at Amazon
The above metric (OTDR) is applicable only to Self Ship Sellers. And drastic actions are taken by Amazon WITHOUT ANY INTIMATION OR NOTIFICATION TO SELLERS, based on the OTDR being below 97%.
I recently discovered that the delivery timelines showing to Buyers on Amazon.in for all my ASINs is showing ridiculously high and not as defined in my Shipping Template! And this has seriously impacted my Order Rate, since very few Buyers would purchase after seeing these absurd delivery timelines!
Amazon informed me that a buffer or padding had been applied to the delivery time, since my OTDR was below 97%. Now I can understand a padding of 1-2 days but the padding applied is like 3 days (when transit time is 1-3 days) and 6 days (when transit time is 3-5 days)!! Absolutely ridiculous!
And most importantly, the process for calculating OTDR is totally wrong and without any logic. When there is an order for which the actual delivery date is not available to Amazon (because of incorrect Tracking information), the Amazon process ASSUMES THAT THIS ORDER WAS DELIVERED AFTER PROMISE DATE!! Can you imagine anything more absurd??????? When you don't have data, you just excude that order from the calculation. For example: if total 50 orders were tracked and 5 of those orders were not trackable due to actual delivery date not being available, the number of orders tracked is actually 45! And if 2 of these 45 orders were deliverd after promise date, then the correct OTDR is 43/45. But the Amazon process takes the OTDR as 43/50, because the 5 orders which could not be tracked fully are included in Tracked Orders and also taken as orders not delivered on time!
AMAZON MUST IMMEDIATELY RECTIFY THIS GROSS ERROR IN THE OTDR CALCULATION PROCESS. And also stop unilateral actions based o OTDR! THE SELLER MUST BE INTIMATED WHEN ACTION IS BEING TAKEN!

Are there no self-ship sellers who are aware of this??? And why is there no respose from Amazon on Seller Forums to this major issue?

We also received a notification that "Your OTDR has not been meeting the required threshold of 97%" when one self-shipment, though booked in time, was picked up one day late by courier.
Though few more self-shipments took place on time in same week, we received 2 more notifications repeating SAME 97% threshold. We were expecting improved compliance figures.
Amazon needs to compute OTDR in real time.
