Amazon "Sold by Amazon" "Dispatched by Amazon" Listing Override Issue
Recently, we decided to mass update a large number of our listings. We swiftly did this to preserve time because we have over 1500 variations. We did this by CSV Files using “Partial-Update”.
Some things which we were updating were:
- Sizes (By opening cases)
- Recommended Browsing Nodes / CL Categories
- Titles, Descriptions & Bullet Points
Upon checking some listings afterwards, we noticed a lot of them are saying “Sold by Amazon”. We don’t do FBA so we are quite unsure as to why this is appearing. The worst part is, we believe Amazon have 0 of our inventory so it’s saying our listings are “Out of Stock” for listings where it has put us in the “Other Sellers” tab.
We are Brand Registered to Amazon and manufacture all of our products so we should be no other sellers except us according to our knowledge. We believe this is having a toll on our sales as we found even our highly reviewed items which used to sell a lot are no longer selling.
If anybody could give us some advice on how to remove the “Sold by Amazon” or give us some insight on how this could even happen in the first place, it would be greatly appreciated.
Attached to this is one of the many listings which is experiencing this problem.

Sold By is the entity selling, so if it says sold by Amazon, then that means Amazon themselves are selling it.
I think if you click on the New (2) From under the Add To List button, you will probably find your offer.
Basically that screenshot you posted shows that you don’t have the buy box and you are competing against Amazon themselves - which can be a tough one especially if you are selling of £20 more. With Amazon having the lowest price and you selling by FBM you are unlikely to ever get the buy box unless Amazon run out of stock. And even then you aren’t guaranteed.

Another seller recently posted that amazon were listing on their branded listings for goggles.
He ordered a pair only to find they were a completely different brand
He reported them to themselves through brand registry obviously though not sure what the outcome was
The problem you have which is what many sellers get annoyed at, amazon are still hogging the buy box with no stock - and as you don’t supply them, ‘should’ never have stock
