Impossible to change the title of my new listing
Hi,
I have a new listing for a product I want to sell, when i created the listing i used a new UPC number and a default title while i was waiting to get the proper title. Now i have just received my inventory and it shows as available on amazon so the products are ready to be sold, the problem is that if i go to the listing page and edit my title with the correct one i get an error:
The value ‘XXXXX’ specified cannot be used as it conflicts with the value ‘XXXXX’ for ASIN Z in the Amazon catalogue. If this is ASIN ‘B08M8XFFM9’, update the value to match the ASIN data. If this is a different product, update identifying information (UPC/EAN/Part Number/etc).
I have reached out to seller support and they keep saying they need proof with the product identifier, a picture or manufacturer website etc. I gave them all i have:
- A picture with the amazon barcode on it
- The manufacturer website on alibaba
- The invoice
They are not accepting any of those, i don’t really know what else i should give them.
What i don’t understand is why they need proof, when they have the products in their warehouse and they have been scanned, meaning they already confirmed they match with the product i have in my inventory… and what does this has to do with a title of the listing???
Please i’m really desperate

Here’s the solution:
After trying to send them the proof they requested, Seller Support told me they couldn’t make the change to the title and they suggest i do a Partial Update inventory request using the following fields:
- Brand Name (brand_name)
- external_product_id: Input the ASIN
- external_product_id_type: Select ‘ASIN’ from the drop-down menu
- item_sku: Input the SKU
- update_delete: Select ‘PartialUpdate’
- feed_product_type: Select the appropriate based on the ASIN’s category
- recommended_browse_nodes/item_type_keyword: Select the appropriate based on the ASIN’s category
Additionally, enter the value to the attribute you seek to change and are having errors with You can find the correct inventory file to use here:
Add Products via Upload: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/listing/download
I had to download the template, add the correct fields, upload it and after 30 minutes i saw the change in my inventory page.
A very complex process overall for just changing a Title, i will definitely remember to create the listing only when i have the right title… but the inventory update is a good tool to know about.

The title that shows is “Eccolove clothes storage bag”. Is that right or wrong? I think your mistake was to create the listing too soon. It can be difficult to change a product title. You can try going to your Inventory and edit the listing from there, but Amazon only treat that as a “suggestion” and may not amend it
Two other points. First, the image shows 3 bags. Is that what the customer gets for the price of £14.99? If not, you’re going to get complaints when customers only get one
Second, your product description says “Top quality materials”. The listing guidelines don’t allow such phrases. In any case, why would anyone advertise “poor quality”, so the wording is unnecessary
