no ratings/reviews

I recently started selling on Amazon UK and have received only a few orders in the past few months, but I haven't gotten any customer ratings yet. Could experienced sellers share insights on when ratings typically start to come in and how frequently they occur relative to monthly sales? Your feedback will help me build a roadmap to achieve consistent orders and gain customer ratings.

You’ll be lucky to get 1 review in 100 sales, it’s not something that Amazon buyers can be bothered with.

There has been so much review manipulation on Amazon that the whole thing is not fit for purpose. Some very poor sellers seem to be able to get reviews removed and replaced with positive, all similarly worded, ones. Amazon themselves are perfect and most FBA poor reviews are struck through.

If you were a buyer and left a valid poor review for an order, then saw it removed, or see clear manipulation, would that encourage you to leave more. It should be almost, but not quite, impossible to get reviews removed.

As I have said in another post recently, a poor review is an opportunity to see where you can improve and develop as a seller, and a good reply, to say that you have taken the comments on board and made changes, can show you care and give confidence to buyers.

Perhaps some aspects should be automatic. e.g. dispatched and delivered on time, 1 star. Quick reply from the seller to any query, or no queries at all, 1 star. No return request, 1 star. That leaves 2 stars, which could be questions for the buyer to award. 1 star for is the item as described and another for overall impression.

T'other eBlatform is massively different for the ratio of reviews to orders.

Unfortunately I may not be much help here but unless you want to pay for something like Vine whereby you pay Amazon to do it then it is not really going to happen for you.

More reviews create more sales and more sales create more reviews. There is no formula to it either some popular products don't seem to attract reviews but some unpopular products can get a high percentage of reviews.

They kind of come in when you are not really expecting it. Also if you are new to the market and competing, agressively trying to get reviews may get you the wrong kind of reviews.

Customers will also tend to base their product reviews on the service they have received so be mindful of this when you are dealing with customer queries. Going above and beyond to help may spark a decent review and be reassuring when selling your products.

Don't forget every time someone makes a purchase on Amazon, Amazon themselves do ask the customer to make a review of the purchase so it is worth just letting the system take its course.

Lack of reviews is really now more of a sign of seller integrity.

Read the garbage 1 liner fake reviews for absolute tat from newly listed products sold by sellers from errm, the "far east" - why Amazon allows this fake review nonsense I just don't know.
