Adding a First Product
Good Afternoon! My name is Amy and my brand was just accepted for brand registry. I am trying to add my first product and I keep getting this message:
Brand Authorization Required: The ability to create or edit ASINs using this brand name is restricted to authorized sellers. You need to apply for approval to add or modify products for this brand.
Would it be possible to get some assistance with this? Since my brand was just accepted, and since I own the brand and trademark, arent I an authorized seller?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

It sounds like you are experiencing Error Code 5461 which can appear during the ASIN creation process and requirements that you must meet to appeal and resolve your listing issue when you encounter error code 5461.
If you have received error code 5461 during your listing experience, read the following information and watch the video tutorial to ensure a successful resolution of your issue.
When submitting your application, provide the following information:
- Real-world images of the product and packaging, meaning that the picture is of the product and packaging being handheld or set on a table. The images should include angles from the front and back of the product and packaging, and must include a close up of the barcode and GTIN (unless you plan to get approval for GTIN exemption). The brand name should be visible on the product and packaging. Clothing items should be unfolded.
- The brand name used when creating the listing.
- Manufacturer.
- UPC/EAN/JAN (this is not required if you’ve applied for a GTIN exemption).
- Product category.
- Product title (including details of variations in color, size, measurements, model or part number, item weight and so on). See Amazon product title requirements for more information.
- Product description (including details of variations in color, size, measurements, model or part number, item weight, and in the case of books include publisher and author name).
- Batch ID of your inventory file process report along with the error code received (if using inventory files).
What are the different error 5461 application outcomes?
- If your application is approved then you will be able to move forward with your listing experience and create a branded ASIN. The time limit for ASIN creation can vary as per the brand (in some cases it can be up to 48 hours). The time limit for ASIN creation will be communicated to you.
- If your application is declined, it could have been for one of the reasons below:
- You did not provide a product description. Amazon was unable to confirm a matching ASIN for the same product did not already exist.
- The images you provided did not meet our image requirements. Images of the product and packaging were not pictures taken by you holding the product or by placing it on a table. You did not include images of all sides of the product. We were unable to find a barcode and UPC in the images (if required). We were unable to find the brand name on the product.
- The UPC you provided is not associated to the brand.
- We found an already existing ASIN in the Amazon catalog that matches the product you are attempting to list.
I do see that you have a few cases open with Selling Partner Support regarding this issue (such as CASE ID ending in 1601). I would recommend continue to review CASE ID ending in 1601 and follow up with the team when they request additional information. It will take a few business days to process your review, so please be patient.
