Find a buyer's telephone number

Every time I get an order I need to know the buyer’s telephone number and email address for couriers, but it’s never listed anywhere. How do I get that information?

At the moment I have to email the buyer and beg them for the information. Sometimes they don’t respond, so I have to list the item as dispatched even when it isn’t. I sent 4 messages to 1 buyer who still has not replied.

You’re well on the way to A-Z cases and suspension doing that. Many buyers opt out of email notifications so you need to put IMPORTANT in the header. Can you not use Royal Mail or a different courier?

The phone number is in the order details when you click on the order. If it isn’t there, Amazon don’t have it either.

If you need them, you can still access customer emails (amazon hashed of course) as well as their telephone number, from Orders > Order Reports.

As mentioned above - do not mark orders as shipped when they are not…

If you are caught Amazon will probably suspend you.

Also, if you mark them shipped when they are not then any tracking will be invalid. The point of using a courier is moot, you may as well save yourself the money and stick them in the post. You lose any INR that is raised without on time valid tracking.

Ah, well that’s classed as a medium parcel. A small parcel up to 2 kilos would only be £2.85 with RM’s online postage but a few grams over and the price does rocket.

We have a similar issue with large items that we need to ship to customers on pallets. Our pallet carrier requires a contact number so that they can arrange a time to deliver the item. The only thing you can really do is try and chase them up using Amazon’s messaging system. As you say, it can take a couple of days, so we have increased the handling time on these items to compensate for this. Luckily they’re large & bulky, so it’s not the kind of item that customer expect to arrive within 1-2 days anyway.

don’t understand why you can’t send an item without a phone number and email address.

Who do you send with?
Could you put your phone number and email instead?

Don’t know about the Archive Reports as in the screenshots above, but …

schedule reports for every 15mins or hours, whatever suits and those work, giving you all the names, email, tel numbers you want - IF THE BUYER GAVE THE NUMBER TO AMAZON !

We find less than 1% have blank numbers.
