Irish Seller Account Verification Issue
I’m an Irish Seller on Amazon (New). I’m having problems providing the information that Amazon requires to get my account Verified. They want all UK information. There is no Amazon.ie So it falls under the Amazon.co.uk. Is there any other Irish Sellers on here who can advise on what they did to meet Amazons requirements ie this UTR number etc. In Ireland we don’t have a UTR number. They also want a company registration number and also a Proof of Registration. So any help and advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Don’t understand how Ireland can fall under UK as its not part of UK is it? You are a non UK resident who has signed up to sell on Amazon.co.uk, which is fine, but you need to provide the UK information Amazon require.

Yes, its idiotic. We’re supposed to be all part of Amazon Europe. Amazon Europe wants me to provide Irish information on the co.uk Amazon website, (which I don’t understand either) I can’t provide UK information - if I don’t have it, I’m not resident there. The UK is not in Europe now. I am - and they won’t accept my details on the UK site. Hence, the reason why I’m asking if there are any Irish Amazon Sellers here and how they overcame this issue.

I’m an Irish seller but I signed up a few years ago and I think it’s got harder since then, with regard to the required paperwork. I was able to provide proof of company registration. I don’t recall being asked for UTR…can you provide them with your VAT or PRSI number instead?
Are you planning to sell FBA or fulfill orders yourself? That will make a difference as regards VAT registration requirements.

If you have registered as a sole trader in Ireland your PPS number becomes a Tax Reference Number and you should be able use that for Amazon.
I registered a trading name in Ireland with the Companies Registration Office and used the cert and number on it as proof of registration.
As others have said if planning to use FBA you will need to register for UK VAT before sending stock to the UK. There is no need to register for income tax in the UK as you are not a UK resident.
